Service Documents: Presentation
Organisations who supply services of interest to nature travellers (such as accommodation,
transport, supplies and equipment, guided tours, medical help) can present their service in special
pages called Service Documents. Like all other documents these are referenced in the Directory
and organised in categories by location and type of service, allowing visitors to
easily and quickly identify services of interest.
Further, nature documents display contextual navigation
links to quickly identify and access possible services that refer to the same geographical area.
Links to the main service categories are also supplied in each page's left navigation column.

How to create Service Documents
STEP 1. Start in the Directory.
Find the category most relevant to the subject of the document you want to create.
To do this first select the geographical location (in Natural regions or Political locations),
then the type of service (in Find Services).
Make sure to be as specific as possible regarding both
geographical location and type of service (if necessary a new, more specific category will be created
during edition). Once in the relevant category click on the link Create a Service page near
the bottom of the page. The service document creation Form will be displayed, ready for you to enter your
information.
STEP 2. Use the service document creation Form
Service documents are created using the service document creation Form and therefore all have the same
structure. The form makes it very easy to create great looking pages, well structured, easy
to read and appealing. No particular computing knowledge is required. Contextual help is provided in the form.
Once the form is filled out the second part of the submission process is to supply credit card details for payment.
Please read Terms and Conditions below for details. Please also note that after submission your service document will
be immediately visible online by the website visitors. Should a problem occur during payment process,
the page will then temporarily be made offline until the problem is resolved.
Authoring Guidelines
There are no particular guidelines regarding the presentation texts and images. However the Open Earth Project's editorial
committee reserves the right to decline any submitted service document for reasons which may include
misleading or incomplete information, unacceptable language and other. Service document authors will be
notified of any changes requested.

The Open Earth Project needs sponsors!
Sponsors can help by supplying resources necessary for the Project's growth, either in cash or services
such as web hosting, telecom, computing, transport.
Other useful support and services would include advertising and notoriety building.

Advertising banners can be displayed in the following parts of this website's pages:
- a horizontal banner (up to 500px x 60px approximately) about the centre of each page,
- vertical banners in the right and left navigation columns (width 120px, height to be determined),
- a smaller banner in the page's top right corner (may be used in priority by sponsors)

CASE 1: Service pages
Duration Service pages are created for 1 year periods. Upon expiry of the period the
service page is automatically taken offline. Shortly before your service page's expiry date a reminder
email will be sent to you, so as to avoid interruption of service.
Payment A credit card payment facility is provided as part of
the service page creation and submission process. Your service page will be online and visible by
all visitors as soon as this process is completed, even if your card is actually charged later
(in this case, should payment fail to proceed successfully, your page will be taken offline and
you will be contacted).

Multiple service pages There is no limit to the number of service pages that can be
created under the same account. This may suit companies operating several types of services, or
services at various locations.
As each page is created individually there will be as many expiry dates as there are pages (and as
many renewals required).
However each time a new service page is created, all older pages' expiry dates can easily be prolonged
so as to be in line with the latest page's. Just click the corresponding button in the service paqe
creation Form. In this case the amount charged will be 1 full year for the latest page, plus the pro-rata
of added time for all other pages.
CASE 2: Sponsoring and banner advertising
Agreements will be discussed on a case by case basis.
